Crazy...

"A crazy life is the only life I know how to live"

The best ever quote from the beautiful Tanya Beetham. I love it.

A turn up for the books

In about two weeks time my life is going to get very busy, very crazy and right now I couldn’t be happier. In fact, this is the most excited I have felt in a long time and it is such a nice feeling.

Also, my older sister is pregnant again, so I will soon have another little niece or nephew to spoil!

Happy days

"Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish"

Here are a few quotes from the speech Steve Jobs gave the graduating class of Stanford University in 2005. The whole thing is too long to write in a blog and our poor quality internet won't allow me to upload it.

The entire speech can be found here and I recommend you watch it:

This speech really struck a chord with me and I find it very inspirational. RIP Steve Jobs.

“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

“Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.”

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

“Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.”

Sunrise

What can I say. As I woke up incredibly early the other morning to go and visit my best friend this was the view that greeted me. Absolutely stunning. The sun rises and sets every day - most of the time it goes un-noticed, over shadowed by our busy lives. It was lovely to be able to sit, watch and appreciate just how beautiful it is.

Endings and Beginnings

"It might seem strange to start a story with an ending. But all endings are also beginnings.  We just don't know it at the time."

~ The five people you meet in heaven.
Mitch Albom.

This feels very relevant to me at the moment...

And most of all I will not grow up...

It’s Autumn. It most certainly is. As I was pottering home from work the other day I had a moment where I just couldn’t resist picking up a few conkers on my walk. I had a minute of being a big kid and it made me feel weirdly childlike and happy. It was lovely. I recommend it! Conkers are still awesome even when you are 22!

"Time may change alot but some things may stay the same
And I won't sit down
And I won't shut up
And most of all I will not grow up..."

~Frank Turner, Photosynthesis

Brilliant song.

A million little pieces

'It is not complicated unless I make it so. It is not difficult unless I allow it to be. A second is no more than a second, a minute no more than a minute, a day no more than a day. They pass. All things and all time wil pass. Don't force or fear. Don't control or lose control. Don't fight and don't stop fighting. Embrace and endure. If you embrace, you will endure.'
~ James Frey. A million little pieces. ~

Sent to me by Tanya, it deserved a post on my blog.  I think the quote itself says it all.
