Summer

We are currently in my favourite time of the year – the summer.  I love the sunshine and especially the long days.  I am such a summer kid; Christmas and Panto are the only two things that make the rain and dark bearable in winter.  I had a moment today when I truly appreciated how lovely it is to walk in the evening.  The sunshine was just at that height where it shines through the trees, I was listening to some happy songs on my ipod and I just felt really peaceful and relaxed. Some people don’t like walking alone, but I could quite happily wander around the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside for hours on end. I like fields. In fact I might start taking lots of pictures of fields – because I’m a geek like that.
It’s the little things in life isn’t it…

Also...

I have officially graduated :)

Exhausted ramblings that don't make much sense

How do I even begin to describe my week?  I can’t. I can’t put this feeling into words. I feel like I’ve run a marathon but instead of coming to the finish line I’m right back at the start again.
Today I went to see the one other person who (for want of a better word) ‘gets it’. Who understands me, sometimes I think better than I know myself. And for half an hour I felt genuinely okay. Like it all didn’t matter.
So I’m now sat in my room with (let me count)…10 letters for potential trips to the theatre I am being persuaded to go and see.  How can I possibly say no? Slava’s Snowshow is one of them (which has to be one of my all-time favourite shows) Our Country’s Good is another. I love that play so much. This is what sparked my love of the theatre, it might be nice to go back and find it again. I kind of feel like Acting is now the only thing keeping me going, the one thing I can hang on to.
I don’t really think this entry is making much sense but after 3 sleepless nights I can’t really help it.
I think I’m going to do some drawing. For some reason it always helps.

This Week

Time for a quick update! This week has been a hectic one.  Because of graduation next week I have been working solidly at H&M for the past week and a half. It’s been good, the girls I work with are lovely and apart from the clear rail (which is quickly becoming the bane of my life) work is going well.
This week was Great Yorkshire Show week!  *Wooo!* I have to admit, being a country kid, I love the Yorkshire Show. I love the animals, the atmosphere, watching the show jumping….I could go on.  I had fun driving to and from town every day and had to seriously test my knowledge of the Harrogate back streets to avoid the major queues of traffic that built up around the showground. Luckily yesterday I didn’t start work until 2:30 so my friend Rosie and I got up nice and early and drove into the show.  We had a brilliant morning walking around the stalls, trying all the tasters in the food hall and buying fudge from a sexy Irish man! It was a really good few hours and I wish I could have been there all day.
Last night was a good one! I went to the midnight showing of Harry Potter with my lovely friend Mark.  We met at 10 and went into ASDA to buy some snacks before ending up in Wetherspoons for a drink.  We eventually made our way to the Odeon along with lots of fellow Potter geeks!  It was a really good atmosphere, lots of people were dressed up and everyone clapped and cheered all the way through.
Tomorrow I’m meant to be going to the races and by the looks of things it going to chuck it down - typical! I will pack a brolly and hope we don’t get too wet…*fingers crossed*
At the GYS looking at the calfs! How cute!

The latest :)

I am yet again writing one of these when I really should be in bed *sigh*. Yesterday was an exciting day because I eventually received my overall classification for my degree! I now am the proud owner of a ‘Bachelor of Arts in Acting, Second Class Upper Division.’ In other words, a 2:1! As you can imagine I am really really pleased - all my course friends seem to have done pretty well too so it was a good day.  I just wish we could have all been together to go out and celebrate.
Curiosity seems to be getting the better of me at the moment…I am finding myself randomly browsing the internet for open auditions, looking on casting call pro at possible jobs as well as into different theatre companies and agents.  The actor in me clearly won’t ever let me rest!
In other news I have had a lovely week starting my new job which was hectic but fun and seeing some friends.  It was my cousin’s birthday this week, 7 years old - I can’t believe how fast she is growing up! We had a great evening opening pressies, watching ‘Tangled’ on dvd and eating birthday cake (yummy) Family really are the best! <3

Thought of the day

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid"
